National Geographic Traveler

Late last year, I was approached by National Geographic Traveler to create a gallery for their Places of a Lifetime section. I was quite honored that they selected me to create a gallery for their Seattle section. You can have a peek at the gallery here.

You See Any Amphibians?

Had a really fun shoot this week for ‘Organic Gardening’ Magazine this past week. It was on King County’s plant salvage program, where the public are able to come to sites which are going to be basically bulldozed over and rescue all of the native plants they can to plant in their own yards before the bulldozers come. It was muddy and a little rainy and a little chilly but a lot of fun. At the end of the afternoon, as things were wrapping up, I was walking back towards the main staging area and I heard this little voice up on the ridge.

‘Hey, did you get any good pictures?’

‘Yeah, I hope so!’

‘You see any amphibians?’

‘Well, no.’

Pause for a moment. And then, this ten-year old boy says ‘Well, I’ve got a salamander up here if you want to take a picture.’

Of course I did! Nice end to a great day!
